Daybook, 1798 Apr.-1799 Jun.

Daybook, 1798 Apr.-1799 Jun., of an unidentified merchant or firm which apparently owned or managed a sawmill, a plastering mill, and a general store in Poughkeepsie, New York. In addition to boards, planks, plaster, and wages, there are accounts for daily sales of rum, gin, brandy, and other spirits, as well as tobacco, sugar, foodstuffs, and receipts for ferriage. Some customers were: Matthew Comstock, James Peirce, John Starr, Peter Lansing, Joseph Bowman, Robert L. Livingston, Israel Loring, Isaac Van Kleeck, etc.
